Kristyn Mayson

Kristyn is our lead occupational therapist for Sprout Lowcountry! Kristyn attended the University of South Carolina and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science.  She then attended the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences where she received a Master of Occupational Therapy in 2018.

Kristyn has since spent ample time adding to her skills and knowledge in occupational therapy, specifically with pediatric related specialty areas. She has received further education through a Modalities and Splinting course to assist her treatment strategies for children who need casting and/or additional support to help them gain core strength and fine motor skills necessary for various life skills and handwriting. She has also received additional training in sensory feeding strategies, sensory integration strategies for intervention, integration of persistent primitive reflexes, and pediatric motor development for early intervention.

Kristyn shares, “I love providing children and their families with the individualized tools and interventions needed to achieve their goals and become as independent as possible!” She adds, “I love meeting new people, and as a pediatric occupational therapist, I am excited to be able to share my expertise and use the creativity allowed by the profession to provide children with client-centered, fun, and achievable treatment sessions to help them feel and become successful in their daily occupations and environments.”

Kristyn also shares, “I am so excited to be a part of this new journey for Sprout Pediatrics and the opportunity to serve children and their families in the Lowcountry area along with so many other talented and specialized therapists that are very supportive of each other and encouraging for my growth as a therapist!”

Kristyn and her husband Andrew reside in the Charleston area. Together they enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, spending time outside with their dog, and attending USC football games in the fall!
